Safety is our number one priority at Southland Steel Fabricators. We believe that management – as well as each and every employee – is responsible for creating a safe workplace at all times. We adhere to the highest safety standards and strive every day to reach our goal of zero accidents. We are committed to ensuring that our employees, our customers' employees and everyone on our job sites are able to return home safely each day.

Quality control is also a way of life at Southland Steel Fabricators. Simply put, we offer our customers a level of quality products that are unmatched in the industry. We strive for 100% accuracy and every piece produced is checked several times by quality control personnel throughout the fabrication process. Our quality control manager is certified to AWS, D1.1 and CWB 47.1 standards and has more than 25 years of experience. We also have five quality control employees dedicated to continual inspection throughout the production process.

All of our major equipment is CNC controlled with accuracy + or - 1/32” electronically – and we fabricate to tolerances of no greater than 1/8”. Our field error rate is extremely low compared to industry standards. We regularly have less than one recordable field error for every thousand piece marks shipped – and we continually strive for zero field errors.

Another testament to the quality of our products is the fact that we will soon be the only company in Louisiana that is certified by the AISC for both fabrication and erection. The bottom line is that we have developed a large customer base built on quality fabrication, outstanding safety, competitive pricing and the ability to handle large construction projects with a quick turnaround.
